What’s Happening, Dec. 7

Raise the Roof!  The roof on the Sanctuary and Education Building has been completed!  We expect work to begin on the Wesley Center around the first of the year.  The projected cost of the project is $37,00.  We welcome your donation to help take care of our buildings that serve as our hub for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with our community and world.  Checks can be made payable to Bluff City UMC and write “Raise the Roof!” in the memo line.

Betty will be out of the office from Thursday, December 20 and Wednesday, December 26. Volunteers are needed to cover the phones, fold bulletins and be available to our members. If you could spare some time on either of these afternoons, please contact Betty at the church office.

Poinsettias for Christmas. ONLY 7 REMAIN—The Worship Committee ordered 30 poinsettias to decorate the Sanctuary and Wesley Center alters for Christmas. You may now sign up and purchase a plant to honor or in memory of a loved one. The sign up and purchase envelope will be in the church office. These flowers are available at $5.00 each on a first come/first serve basis.

The Children’s Christmas program will be on Sunday, December 16. After the program, the children will be taking up donations to go to Heifer International. Heifer International works in the areas of livestock and agriculture to develop programs that help with hunger and poverty worldwide. The children will choose a gift to send for a missions project. If you would like more information about Heifer International, their website is http://www.heifer.org. Also, after the program, refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring your favorite finger food.

Bluff City Music Club invites you to “Holiday Melodies,” a concert of favorite Christmas music featuring organ, piano, and flute, Sunday, December 9, at 3:00 p.m. at Bluff City United Methodist Church.

Our annual Christmas potluck dinner will be Sunday, December 23, immediately following the Traditional Service in the Fellowship Hall. The meat will be furnished by the church. Please bring your favorite side dish, salad, or dessert.
