New Life Group for Singles and Couples.  We have begun a new Life Group!  Based on Acts 2 and modeled by the first Christians, Life Groups meet regularly to allow the group members a time of sharing a meal, fellowship, praying together, growing together, caring for one another, and serving together.  This new group is for male and female adults, as singles or as a couple.  We do not plan for the group to focus on couple or marriage or family issues, but want to begin a group that couples can be in together.  If there is enough interest, we could launch another group later that focuses on marriage and family issues.  But that is not this group.  This is open to any adult, and you are always welcome to bring someone new.  Pastor Dan and Samantha Gray will co-lead it the first year, with Dan and Lelia Perry also providing leadership.  Children are welcome to come and play with other children, but we will not have programming for them.  Instead of the first and third Tuesday, we will meet on the first and third Friday.  Our next meeting is Friday, Sept. 19, at 6:30 pm at the Gray’s home.  Hope you can join us!  Let Pastor Dan know if you can come or 423-956-3524.

Our Fellowship Dinner is Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  The Crossroads Sunday School class will be hosting and the menu will be Lasagna, Salad and Dessert.

The 3D Life Group, led by Samantha Gray and Jane Bellamy meets the fourth Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 23 at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

The Sisters of Strength Life Group Meeting will be held the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Fellowship Hall from 11:00 AM—1:00 PM.  Jin Lane and Joan Williams lead this group.  The next meeting will be Thursday, September 18.

We welcome Rev. Grady Winegar to share our message today in worship.  Rev. Winegar is a retired Elder, having served churches throughout the Holston Conference, as well as serving as the Holston Conference Secretary, the Director of Clergy Concerns, the Wytheville District Superintendent, and the Kingsport District Superintendent.  Rev. Winegar is an avid church historian, participating in the conference and denominational levels.  He has shown special interest in the Cox House, and we look forward to him sharing some of his research following our worship time.

Special thanks to Jane Riley, Betsy Carrier and Jack Hurlbert for their leadership in preserving our Cox House heritage!
