News and Events for April 16

For worshippers interested in renewing the promises they have made at their baptism, we invite you to participate today during the worship service in the Reaffirmation of the Baptismal Covenant and the Baptismal Remembrance. Baptism marks one’s acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the beginning of new life in Christ, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and one’s initiation into Christ’s Holy Church. Baptism is one of our two sacraments in The United Methodist Church, along with Communion. Baptism is a means of God’s grace, an outward sign of God’s inner work of grace — in which we put off the old, renouncing sin and the evil powers of the world, and pledging our loyalty to Christ. For more information on our understanding of baptism, visit http://www.umc.org/what-we-believe/baptism.

If you have not received the sacrament of Baptism and are interested in doing so, please talk with Pastor Dan to arrange a time.

Pastor Dan will be on vacation from April 17 to April 23. In case of a church need, please contact Nancy Forrester, our Lay Leader.

Your investment of prayer, time and treasure is powerful in the hands of the Lord.  Because of you, chaplains are able to take the Gospel to the hurting and hopeless to see God move in their lives.  Thank you for standing with us!

God Bless,
Jon Evans

Several years ago, donations were made to a designated fund for the children’s bell choir program (current balance of $194.62) and to a designated fund for the  children’s rotation Sunday School ministry (current balance of $102.53). We have not done these particular ministries since at least 2008 and perhaps before; and do not anticipate doing them again. We would like to move these funds to the  Designated Children’s  Ministries fund to be available to more generally  support our  ministries with children. If you donated any amount to either the children’s bell choir program or the rotation Sunday School, please contact Pastor Dan to  discuss this matter .
