The Leadership and Vision Team will meet today, Sunday, July 29 at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  Team Members are:  Sean Glenn, Tony Lundin, Lelia Perry, Nancy Forrester, Lana Butler, Jane Bellamy, Bobbie Warden, Mike Miller,  Kim Lundin, Jim Altman, Dan Perry, Jack Hurlbert and Michael Forrester.

Church-wide Family Picnic will be held at the Hurlbert’s on Saturday, August 11 (see insert). Activities will begin at 3:00 pm.

Bluff City Heritage Days will be on Saturday, September 29 and we will be participating again this year.  If you have anything you would like to donate to the church to sell in the yard sale, please see Jack Hurlbert.  We would appreciate things that are in really good condition—NO clothes or shoes.

Sulfur Springs Camp Meeting will be held Sunday, August 5—Wednesday, August 8 beginning at 6:30 PM.

The 199th annual Camp Meeting will feature a great variety of music nightly beginning at 6:30. Our speaker this year will be Micah Nicolaus. We will kick off Camp Meeting on Sunday August 5 with our local mission hands on project with Rise Against Hunger (formerly Stop Hunger Now). This will be our 3rd year in this partnership. We need volunteers at 3:00 to help set up and then we need about 80 people to help pack 10,152 meals in less than 2 hours. This is a great inter-generational project and we welcome all ages. The cost for one meal is 29 cents, so please bring a donation from yourself or your group (ex- $29 will pay for 100 meals!!). We will also be having our annual Youth Gathering on Sunday at 3:00 with Micah speaking to the youth and the Sulphur Springs praise band leading this time of youth worship.

You are invited to National Night Out on August 7, 2018 from 6 pm—8 pm at Piney Flats UMC.  National Night Out promotes community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.  Meet local Police Departments, fire departments, rescue squads and community agencies that are here to protect and help.  Enjoy free food, live music, games and door prizes.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.

TODAY IS THE FIFTH SUNDAY!! For more than a century, Methodist and Holston Home have worked together to minister to the needs of children,  youth and families in the Holston Conference.  The mission of the Holston United Methodist Home for children is to provide hope and healing to children and families struggling with life’s challenges.  You can help give children and youth a better life, a good education, and a chance to develop into Christian men and women.  Your interest determines their future.
