News and Events for August 5

Nominations and Leadership Team will be meeting in the Willing Workers’ classroom on Wednesday, August 15 at 5:00 p.m.  Members are:  Tony Lundin, Pearl Carrier, Jin Lane, Priscilla Keene, Elaine Good , Herman Carrier, and Sean Glenn.

Church-wide Family Picnic will be held at the Hurlbert’s on Saturday, August 11 (see insert). Activities will begin at 3:00 pm.

Donations are being collected for school supplies for the Bluff City Elementary and Middle Schools for children who’s parents cannot afford to buy supplies.  If you are led to support this ministry, please write “school supplies” on the memo line of your check.  All donations are appreciated.

Next week, we will be collecting both canned goods and monetary donations for the Rockhold Food Pantry.  If you are led to support this ministry, please write “Rockhold Food Pantry” on the memo line or place your donation in the basket designated.

Bluff City Heritage Days will be on Saturday, September 29 and we will be participating again this year.  If you have anything you would like to donate to the church to sell in the yard sale, please see Jack Hurlbert.  We would appreciate things that are in really good condition—NO clothes or shoes.

Sulfur Springs Camp Meeting will be held Sunday, August 5—Wednesday, August 8 beginning at 6:30 PM.

You are invited to National Night Out on August 7, 2018 from 6 pm—8 pm at Piney Flats UMC.  National Night Out promotes community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.  Meet local Police Departments, fire departments, rescue squads and community agencies that are here to protect and help.  Enjoy free food, live music, games and door prizes.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.

All “OLD” softball players are invited to a reunion to be held in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, September 1.  More details to follow.
