News and Events for September 23

District Conference will be today, September 23 at 3 PM at Gray UMC.  This will be a celebration of our new district name – Three Rivers.   The Pastor, Lay Leader, and Council Chair should attend.  Anyone else is welcome to attend.

Bluff City Heritage Days will be on Saturday, September 29 and we will be participating again this year.  If you have anything you would like to donate to the church to sell in the yard sale, please see Jack Hurlbert.  We would appreciate things that are in really good condition—NO clothes or shoes.

FURNITURE SALE:  There is furniture for sale to the Church members and acquaintances in the Wesley Center.  There are 2 bedroom suites, a dining room suite and china cabinet.  Pricing is negotiable.  See Jack Hurlbert, Mike Miller, or Elaine Good for more information.

We only have 1 license plate left.  The cost is $10.50.  Please see Pastor Sean if you would be interested in purchasing it.

The Finance Team will be meeting Monday, September 24 at 5:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  Members are:  Dan Perry, Nancy  Forrester, Betty Malone, Elaine Good, Tony Lundin, Herman Carrier, Michael Forrester, Jack Hurlbert, Mike Miller, Jane Bellamy, Lelia Perry, Kim Lundin, Bobbie Warden and Sean Glenn.

There will be a potluck dinner on Sunday, October 7 following the 10:30 worship service.  Please sign up on the sheet on the lectern in the back of the sanctuary.

Charge Conference will be at Elizabeth Chapel UMC on Sunday, October 28.

We will be having a Revival on November 18-20.  Please be praying for this ministry,  that it is successful and brings people to God.

The Community Thanksgiving Service will be held here at Bluff City UMC. On Wednesday, November 21 at 7:00 PM.  Dr. Jonathan Feathers of the Bluff City Christian Church will bring the message.

There will be a Senior Adult Gathering on Thursday, September 27, at 10:00 AM at the Unicoi UMC.  Keynote speaker will be Rev. Lauri Jo Cranford.  Registration is $10.  Registration deadline is September 20.  For more information, please see insert.

For more than a century, Methodist and Holston Home have worked together to minister to the needs of children,  youth and families in the Holston Conference.  Your FIFTH SUNDAY OFFERINGS made a difference.  You will have an opportunity to share in this vital ministry next Sunday, September 30.  Please be generous.
