News and Events for September 1

Team Ministry Chairs, the 2020 Budget request forms are due in the church office today.

Our Fall Wednesday night Bible study has begun.  We are studying  Epic of Eden:Isaiah.  All are welcome to attend, even if you did not purchase a book.  We are meeting in the Fellowship Hall.

The weekly schedule for Fall  has resumed.  Our Fellowship meal will be served at  5:15 in the Fellowship Hall.  This week’s meal is  Bar-b-que, coleslaw, and fries. Youth, Children and Adult programs begin at 6:00 PM and Choir Practice at 7:00 PM.

We are in need of 4 volunteers (one per week) to help with the Wednesday night program.  If you would be willing to help, please contact Megan Burke at 341-6572.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Cluster Revival on September 8-11.  Rev. Ric Wright will be back again to lead us under the theme “Living Water”.  BCUMC will host Sunday night, Rockhold UMC will host Monday night, Piney Flats UMC on Tuesday night and Edgefield UMC on Wednesday.  All services will be at 6:30 PM.

There will be a meeting of the Nurture Team on Tuesday, September 3 at 6:30 PM in the Willing Worker’s Classroom.  Members are:  Mike Miller (Chair), Carole Miler, Valerie Altman, Priscilla Keene, Betsy Carrier, Sean Glenn, Tony Lundin, Joan Williams, Lelia Perry, Elaine Good.

The Heritage Day Planning Team will meet Tuesday, September 5, at 6:30 PM in the Willing Workers Classroom.

Trustees will meet at 6:30 PM  Thursday, September 5 in the Faithful Disciples Classroom.   Members are:  Jack  Hurlbert (Chair), Jay Altman, Donnie Rader, Bruce Stewart, Selena Lane, and Lelia Perry.

September 15 is National “Back To Church” Sunday.  Please be thinking and praying about who you’d like to invite to come back to church that Sunday. We are planning a special service for the day.

Mark your calendars for September 29th!  We will be celebrating “Heritage Sunday” here at BCUMC.  This is an anniversary/homecoming service and we will celebrate the history of our church, plus have special guest singers from Milligan College and a catered lunch afterward.  We hope you’ll plan to attend!
