News and Events for the Week of January 19

If you are interested in joining Bluff City UMC, please mark your desire on the tear-off slip in the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate or talk to Pastor Sean.  We are considering offering a new member class in late January/early February.

It’s a new year and we’re doing some new things! Our children and youth activities are moving to Sunday nights.  Our children will now be meeting on the first Sunday night of each month from 5-7 PM for an extended time of crafts, music, lessons and even some field trips.  Our youth will now be meeting every Sunday night from 5-7 PM.  Children will start off in the Theatre Room (upstairs in the CLC) and our youth will meet in the Senior High room (upstairs in the CLC).  We hope this new schedule will allow more of our kids to participate in these activities.  If you have any questions, please see Megan Burke (Children’s Coordinator) or April Bridgeman (Youth Coordinator).

You are invited to a 100th Birthday Party for Miss Mary Carrier on Saturday, February 8, from 2:00—4:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

Beginning today, Sunday, January 19th, we will begin a sermon series on the Means of Grace: Prayer, Bible Study, Holy Communion, Fasting and

Fellowship.  As we begin this new year, I invite you to be present for these messages and set a new focus on following Jesus in 2020.  This series will lead us up to the season of Lent.  Blessings, Pastor Sean

Resurrection is coming up soon!  Our youth will be heading to Pigeon Forge the weekend of January 24-26 for a weekend of worship, teaching and fun.  If you are interested in going, please see our youth director April  Bridgeman.

There will be a Worship Team meeting on Sunday, February 2, at 4 PM in the old Willing Workers classroom.  All team members, please plan to attend.

Members are:  Sean Glenn, Jane Bellamy, Kim Lundin, Bruce Stewart, Elaine Good, Dan Perry, Tony Lundin, Nancy Forrester, Betsy Carrier.

On Sunday, January 26th, there will be a wedding reception for Chris and Sue Prost immediately following worship in the Fellowship Hall.  The happy couple would like to invite their church family to celebrate with them.
