News and Events for the Week of February 2

You are invited to  a 100th Birthday Party for Miss Mary Carrier on Saturday, February 8, from 2:00—4:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

There will be a Worship Team meeting today, February 2, at 4 PM in the old Willing Workers classroom.  All team members, please plan to attend. Members are:  Sean Glenn, Jane Bellamy, Kim Lundin, Bruce Stewart, Elaine Good, Dan Perry, Tony Lundin, Nancy Forrester, Betsy Carrier.

On Sunday, February 2, there will be a meeting right after worship for all parents and grandparents that are part of our Children’s Ministry.  Some important decisions regarding upcoming programming need to be made and we want your input.  Please plan to be here and to stay for 10-15 minutes after worship in the Sanctuary. There will be a Witness Team meeting on Tuesday, February 4 at 12 NOON in the Fellowship Hall.  Lunch will be served.

There will be a meeting of the Outreach Team on Tuesday, February 4 at 5:30 in the Faithful Disciple Classroom.  Members are:  Nancy Forrester, Kim Lundin, Barbara Gilmer, Dan Perry, Jane Riley, Joan Williams, Tommy Forrester

There will be a Finance Team meeting on Tuesday, February 4, at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  Team Members are:  Dan Perry (Chair), Nancy  Forrester, Sean Glenn, Tony Lundin, Lelia Perry, Michael Forrester, Valerie Altman, Jack Hurlbert, Betty Malone.

There will be a Nurture Team Meeting on February 11, at 6:30 PM in the Faithful Disciples Classroom.  Members are:  Mike Miller (Chair), Carole Miller, Valerie Altman, Priscilla Keene, Betsy Carrier, Sean Glenn, Tony Lundin, Joan Williams, Lelia Perry, Elaine Good.

There will be a CPR class Friday, February 7 at 6:00 PM at the Rescue Squad Building. Contact Jack Hurlbert for more information and to sign up for the class.

We will be accepting canned goods and monetary donations next week for Rockhold Food Pantry, If you wish to participate in this ministry, please bring your canned goods next week and place in the wagon in the Information Center.  If you are making a monetary donation, please write “Rockhold” on the memo line and place it in the offering plates.

Our nursery worker, Angel Johnson, is now on staff here at BCUMC.  If you have been helping with her support, please give through the church by putting your money in the offering and designating it for “Nursery”.  Thanks!

Mark your calendars now for our Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday February 26th at 6 PM.  Ash Wednesday is a time for repentance as we enter the Lenten season.
