News and Events for the Week of February 16

There will be a Church Council meeting today at 4:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  Members are:  Michael Forrester, Betty Malone, Tony Lundin, Leila Perry, Nancy Forrester, Valerie Altman, Dan Perry, Jack Hurlbert, Mike Miller, Jin Lane, Sean Glenn, Elaine Good, Lenny Leonard, Herman Carrier. All members should plan to attend.

The Witness Team will be sponsoring a Pancake Supper on Ash Wednesday, February 26,  before the worship service.  They will be serving pancakes, sausage, and all the fixins starting at 5:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  Cost is $6 for adults.  Children under 12 are free.  Proceeds go to evangelism ministries .

Our Ash Wednesday Worship Service will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, February 26.  Plan on attending this service as it is a time for repentance as we enter the Lenten Season.

During the season of Lent, we will be offering a special Wednesday night study based on the book “Wounds That Heal.” We are all wounded people.  In this book, we will look at the implications of Jesus’ crucifixion for our own healing and restoration. We will explore such topics as shame, rejection, deliverance, pain, forgiveness and others.  This study will begin on March 4.  If you are interested, a sign up sheet will be passed over the next 2 Sundays or you can call the church office. Book cost approximately $15 each. Pastor Sean will be preaching a series based on the book as well.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 11 for our annual Beans and Bluegrass featuring the Sullivan East Bluegrass Band.

Our nursery worker, Angel Johnson, is now on staff here at BCUMC.  If you have been helping with her support, please give through the church by putting your money in the offering and designating it for “Nursery”.  Thanks!
