News and Events for the Week of March 1

During the season of Lent, we will be offering a special Wednesday night study based on the book “Wounds That Heal.” We are all wounded people.  In this book, we will look at the implications of Jesus’ crucifixion for our own healing and restoration. We will explore such topics as shame, rejection, deliverance, pain, forgiveness and others.  This study will begin on March 4.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 11, 5:30 PM for our annual Beans and Bluegrass Dinner featuring the Sullivan East Patriot  Pickers.  The meal is free but donations will be accepted.

Our monthly Children’s ministry (Wesley’s Kids) gathering is coming up tonight.  We’ll be having a St. Paddy’s Day Party!  All of our children (up through 5th grade) are invited.  We’ll make crafts, cook Irish candy, have a meal together, and share the gospel. The fun starts at 5 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

There will be a J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) trip on Friday, April 17, to the Festival of Nations at Dollywood.  If interested in going, please see Sammy Waid (870) 310-1068.

Calling All Men—Andy Hare, Principal of Sullivan East High School will be the guest speaker at the Men’s breakfast this Saturday, 3/7.  Please join us at 8:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.

During the season of Lent, our kids will be collecting Change for Children.  So make sure to bring your pocket change to worship so the cans will ring!  This money is given to children’s ministries throughout Holston Conference in the form of grants to local churches.  BCUMC has been the recipient of these grants in the past, so your small change adds up to big ministry!

We have a new usher/greeter schedule for the next 3 months.  Pastor Sean would like to meet with all who have signed up right after service today so schedules can be distributed.
