News and Events for the Week of March 15

Throughout the season of Lent, we will be offering a special Wednesday night study based on the book “Wounds That Heal.”  You are welcome to join at any time.

There will be a J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) trip on Friday, April 17, to the Festival of Nations at Dollywood.  If interested in going, please see Sammy Waid (870) 310-1068.

During the season of Lent, our kids will be collecting Change for Children.  So make sure to bring your pocket change to worship so the cans will ring!  This money is given to children’s ministries throughout Holston Conference in the form of grants to local churches.  BCUMC has been the recipient of these grants in the past, so your small change adds up to big ministry!

CRUSADER COMMENTS:  Friends, our next study topic.  Invite em if you got em.

If you would like to help with children’s activities in any way (volunteering, donating items, etc) or stay informed about upcoming events, please join our new text announcement group by texting @bd6f7d7 to 81010. Thanks!

Our Community Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday April 11th from 2:00pm-4:00pm. We will have the telling of the Easter story,  games, snacks, prizes, and of course, an egg hunt!  Mark your calendars now, tell a friend and pray for good weather!

The Bristol cluster of UM Churches are sponsoring a weekly Lenten service and luncheon.  Each Wednesday at noon, you can attend a short worship service and enjoy a free lunch provided by the church. This week, 3/18, the service is at State Street UMC, 300 W. Valley Drive, Bristol, VA.  Message by Rev. David Jackson of Emory UMC.

Holston conference and UMCOR are coordinating a response to the tornado in Middle Tennessee this past week.  We have been asked to provide cleaning kits and hygiene kits for the recovery effort. Please turn into the office by Sunday, March 29.

Our first PotLuck dinner is coming up on March 29 after worship.  Make plans to bring your favorite dish and stay for lunch.

Virginia Avenue UMC, 1127 Virginia Ave., Bristol TN,  invites you to join them for a very special Sunday of worship through music.  They will be hosting the southern gospel quartet, Phillips and Banks, Sunday, March 29 at 4 PM.  A potluck dinner will follow in the Fellowship Hall. A love offering will be collected.
